Sound problems I can download music ok but when I try and play it sounds muffled and tinny. The device also turns itself off frequently. I have tried using Philips device manager repair with no success.

Why does sound have a muffled sound to it

It sounds like you have a bad ground connection on either an input or output. Try wiggling the cables and plugs that connect to it. If you can figure out which cable is bad, try a new one. Also try exchanging the speakers whether the speaker itself is damaged.

are you playing music with media player if you are right click media player toolbar go to view then enhancements then graphic equaliser and change sound effects there click on the defalt then a window will open .

Hello,
Please download Instruction Manual of DAV-DZ260 from Sony Support and go to page 25 and select appropriate sound option.
The disc in player doesn't match with current sound selection thats why you hear muffled sound.

Audio Problems With MP3

First thing you wanna do is to try another set of headphones. If it still sounds muffled then theres a fault in the audio output section and these things are non user serviceable. Your gonna need to send back to the manufacturer. Good Luck
