No picture I went on vacation for a week and when i came home i turned my tv on and you can hear it click on but the screen stays black .Then after a few seconds the red light beside the power button starts flashing. It is a 1999 model but i have never had any problems before.

95% 0f the time when this happens to a toshiba projection or regular set, the power regulator IC is bad. It is a componet that should be replaced by a service technician as there are too many points inside this set that can zap you and hurt you. If thats the only problem your talking in the range of 175 to 250 to repair this set. Good Luck

Check on google for flash light test. If you can see image then the issue is with your inverter board.

If its worth fixing depends on age of set and what it cost.

The place to begin is someone needs to open the set and check a few things------the click is a mechanical relay coming on and likely going right back off.

The problem could be minor or major.

You might want to begin by calling local shops and see what they charge for an estimate of repairing----should tell you if you want to proceed or move on and replace this set.

My apex digital hd tv model ld4088 40 inch turned on this morning and then after a while the screen went black. Now when i turn the tv on i hear no sound and it just stays black no backlight or any light...

we just had the same exact problem. they are sending a technician out to us. we were on the phone with them for 30 minutes.

Hello, if the model number is correct it's not a projection tv, but an LCD tv. If that's correct, it sounds like a bad main board issue part # is AGF31218501...thanks

Sharp LCD TV picture goes off few seconds after power on. When I turn on the TV picture comes on and than screen turns black but the sound stays on. After power up I hear a click like a relay switching on...

Lg 42'' plasma 720p no picture

This is not good. Was your tv unplugged or just power button off when you left for vacation. PlasmaTvs are highly susceptible to damage from power surges caused by lighting. Leave unplugged for at least five minutes then plug back in and see if this helps.

most times then not it's the capacitors on your power board that blew there for not supplying the tv with enough power if you open it up and check the capacitors it should be leaking some kind of liquid or the tops have bubbled up. its an easy fix cost>>2 dollars each
