Problems staying connected to Xbox Live using Actiontec GT724WG

I've got UPnP on so my NAT is open. I've tried using DMZ hosting but that hasn't helped. So I'm thinking it has to deal with my gateway because every 10-30 minutes i keep getting disconnected I'd appreciate it if there were some sort of self walk-through anyone has done that I could follow to make it where I don't get disconnected.

SOURCE: ok my nat type is strict and i am trying to change to open

You want the NAT open for X-box ?

For X-box you will need to open some ports on the router.

Also you will need to reduce down the MTU on the router to 1365.
That will work.
for this you will need to open the router set up.

Click here for more info about x-box and router settings

SOURCE: I have an actiontec router

You Will Have to Disable the Firewall In Your modem / Router

And IF it is a router then Open The Ports

• TCP 80
• UDP 88
• UDP 3074
• TCP 3074
• UDP 53
• TCP 53

And also make sure that UPnP is enabled

How do i change my NAT connection from moderate to open

This one is simple. Find the IP address that your Xbox is assigned by your router, then put it into the DMZ. This also goes for PS3 users who are having trouble with internet access.

NAT set to strict

upgrade your router to the latest firmware that can be found here:
http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/WGR614.asp

after upgrading the firmware, press the reset button for 30 seconds, then reconfigure the router. you will need to re-enable upnp if it is disabled, and open up ports UDP 88 UDP 3074 TCP 3074. i would also reserve the ip for the xbox and if all else fails set the xbox as the dmz host.

hope this helps,
trin
