you need 2 replace the dog...! (BEFORE THE WIRING job) ...that's a really tight spot they're in....
HE'LL SEE NEW WIRES AND SAY....
OH GOODY....I bet he'll like this ! that's what he gets for leaving me home alone ....i'll show HIM !
assuming this is a window air cond? It is not safe to use electrical tape, duct tape or any other kind of tape on a power cord to cover bare wiring. Many times I have cut the cord short enough to cut out the place where chewed and gone to a hardware store where I can get a new cord end that matches the wall plug and wire it in to the shorter cord. If this is not possible, you will need to either make a new cord or try to find a cord at an appliance supply house.
Hello,Yes there is a 3 amp blade fuse(same as in a car) in the blower unit, take off the door and it is plugged in to the(curcuit) board.Pull it out and slip a new one in.That will restore the control voltage.Your repair sounds correct. Some times there is a tiny button on the transformer itself (square box) that pops up instead of a fuse just push that in to reset it(if applys).
HI there well i think what you dog chewed on was the thermostat wires. if you tell me the colors maybe i can help you out. [email protected] This is my e-mail
Sometimes you can just turn off the power and cut out the bad spot and strip back the outer casing, match the colors and wire nut it back together. You need to be careful so that the new connection is not accessable to the bad weather. If you cannot protect the wire from the wet weather you should just replace the wire by running new.
If the dog chewed up the coil wire you will need a new coil. How did the dog GET to the wiring? Did you let the dog live? The wires are color coded. Splice the wires color to color. Depending on how badly the dog tore up the wires, you may want to get a new, (or used) wiring harness and re-wire the bike following the pattern of the existing wiring.

Basically any bell wire will work, available at any home centers everywhere. if the existing wire is long enough, just wire nut it together (white to white, color to color)
That wire is to your thermostat which of course turns the A/C on/off. One thing you can do is to splice the wire back together w/ small wire nuts (available at hardware store or wal-mart, and just hook it up color to color and then tape w/ electrical tape. Make sure you turn your breaker off and turn off the thermostat control.
