It's likely a harder, heat resistant type of plastic and the breadmaker does not get hot enough to cause the paddle to release any toxic chemicals.

SOURCE: Blades stuck inside bread

Unfortunately trying to stick the paddles in the pan just tends to leave half the loaf in the bottom with them. The best method i have found is to cut the crust around the outside of the paddles, carefully avoiding the bit where the actual paddle blade is, then you insert a rod into the centre of the paddle and tilt it towards the blade. They normally come free pretty easily. Another method you can use if you are around the machine when it is making bread, is to remove the paddles at the end of the mixing/kneading cycle, just before the baking cycle starts. Most machines have a small pause allowing you to do this - sometimes with a "beep" or screen message to tell you that you can do this. Sorry i couldn't find the exact info for your model, it will vary for different baking programs also. If you check the cycle to determine at which stage it starts actually baking, then you can do this quite safely so long as you are careful of the machine heating up while you are removing the paddles - usually you would have around 20 minutes at least to remove the paddles before baking. Hope this helps :)

I had great success in finding what I wanted for my breadmaker at http://breadmakerpartsemporium.ioffer.com/. They have manuals and parts for most breadmakers at very reasonable prices.

SOURCE: i need to replace bread maker paddle

Your model number for the all in one pro should be a B1650 (single paddle model)

If that is correct then this is one source for the paddle:

http://www.abtecparts.com/commerce/search/products/?product_id=01XBD42959200&merchant_id=1933

An informationl note about Black and Decker products is that there are replacement parts for anything they make as long as they have no discontinued the model number. Once the model number is discontinued they have aftermarket replacement parts for 5 years only.
(your replacement paddle is starting to show up as no longer available)

The orignal paddle part number is: 429592-00

Here is a 2nd source for the paddle:

I need a paddle for a black and decker all in one breadmaker B 1600 type one. It has one paddle with a three eighths shaft, or the larger shaft.

You may be able to order a paddle for your Black & Decker B1561 Bread Maker from this site:

http://www.abtecparts.com/Black_&_Decker_breadmaker_paddles.htm

Before ordering you may wish to inquire whether the Paddle 500 is a suitable replacement for the B1561 or if they can supply the correct part.
