PTT problem I have an i830 nextel phone. I ran out of minutes and didn't use the phone for about 2 months. when I was going to use the phone the PTT button was not working. When i push the PTT button the outside LCD light does not turn on and I can't chirp people.I don't know what the problem is. HELP.

Are you using it with the original service provider or a different one?

When you are using a Nextel sim card in a Boost phone, The Boost phone recognizes that it is not the alotted sim and will automatically lock up. This doesn't happen in all cases but it does happen often. There is no way to fix this issue besides replacing the phone, which you can do through warranty if you can not return it to the store.

There is no way to do such a thing. The i830 works off the iDEN network and is not compatible in any way with the GSM network used by Cingular. Sorry. Truth is, the i830 is junk, you're better off without it.

Sorry there is no iDEN network in India, and the i830 will not work with any other network. Try selling the i830 on ebay.

ok you need to call web support at nextel, they need to fix your texting. most likely you put your sim card into another nextel model. they need to clear it up in the back end they might need to verify your serial number and update it.

the i830's were junk. It's probably dented inside. If you want to try and get it fixed, you will need to have this repaired at a local service center. This is covered completely by Sprint Nextel's ESRP (Equipment Service & Repair Program) and TEP (Total Equipment Protection), and can be done at any Sprint Nextel Service & Repair Location. If you do not subscribe to ESRP or TEP, the charge for the repair will be no more than $55.

Sounds like your phone is damaged .. your best bet is to take it to a service center for repair
