Mongolia Broadcasts on SECAM-D Standard. So you have to go into the SETUP MENU of your TV and select SECAM in the SYSTEM Options. In sound select 'D'. UK broadcasts in PAL - I. It is a simple matter of resetting the TV.
Go into the TV Menu and access the sound settings, for the UK it would normally be set to I. This MAY need to be changed to a different setting. Try the options that are listed. Might fix it!!

French TV works on a diffrent frequency to uk i cannot remember the details but one is PAL as memory serves me a modern tv should switch over in the settings

your friend is right you require pal system to run tv properly.
on the back side of your tv there might be switch pal/ntsc
if that system change over switch is not there then you are helpless

I Bought a New Sylvania SDTV
and hooked up my stereo just as the tv manual said ......It doesn't work it worked on my older Magnavox I've went to AUDIO SETUPS on both remotes what can it be????
