When i turn the camera on its gets stuck on zoom and it won't take a picture
I love this "just take it to the shop" It sounds as if there is a piece of foreign body in the lens drive mechanism and it's stopping the lens from fully extending. Or perhaps the sensor which tells the canera the lens is at the end of it's zoom is faulty. Those are the hard ones. The easy ones are maybe a loose flat ribbon cable connector. With a bit of vibration and jarring it's possible one leading to the lens is loose and just needs cleaning and resecuring to it's socket. I've got the same model here and perhaps it has the same problem. Open the camera and look at the lens assembly. Running on the left of the round piece is a flat ribbon cable. It makes a sudden 90% drop in one spot and the one I have was fractured at that position. Thereby disabling both the extend and retract sensors. The problem there, is just for a lousy piece of wiring you have to buy the complete assembly at a cost of $299 AUD plus freight. If you have a very fine soldering iron, steady hand and very good eyesight you could possibly fix it yourself. Good Luck BMW BMW
