A few weeks ago, I noticed that when I turned my TV on it was just black and white static for a few seconds, then would go to the normal picture. Since then, the static has been lasting longer each time I turn it on (it's up to a full minute now), but the sound works as soon as I turn it on. Once the TV is on, the color is darker than normal and the picture is getting progressively lower. For example, if I watch a news channel, I can't see the scrolling words at the bottom of the screen anymore and at the top of the screen, there is about an inch of just black. Any ideas what might be wrong and/or how to fix it? The TV is only a few years old. Thanks!
What your describing sounds like two differant problems OR the power supply is causing these two problems .. One would of course be the tuner and the other would be the vertical circuit .. Your going to need to seek out a profesional if you havent a clue about solid state electronicsand A tv is not a place to experiment! Good Luck

I was having the EXACT same problem -- over the past week or so, I started getting the static when I would first turn on my TV. As of this afternoon, though, it got significantly worse. I was watching TV, and the picture was very dark, then the static starting popping in and out during the movie. I tried turning off the TV, unplugging it, etc. Eventually, the TV turned off on its own and now I can't turn it back on. Did you ever get your TV repaired? If so, what was the problem? Please advise, thanks.
