Please help Ok I had my amp hooked up and workin for some time now and just the other day the fuse in the wire blew. So when I replaced it and now the power on light comes on for a few seconds and shuts back off. I thought I had a bad connection somewhere in the ground or hot wires but i checked that and its not the problem.

Check to make sure you speaker has not shorted. Try a different speaker. If this is not the case you could have an internal shorted transistor inside of the amplifier. or in some cases both. If it is in the amp and you are comfortable working on the amp remove the cover and along the side connected to the heatsink. You will find the smps and the output transistors. use an ohmeter and check across the three legs one way you sould get one reading and if you flip the leads you will get another. if you encounter no resistance, no matter which way the leads are placed. That transistor will probaly need to be replaced. But check the speaker before you do anything. and the wires going to the speakers.

40 amp. fuse keeps blowing out on 2008 harley

You have a short. Check the insulation on all wiring that carries + voltage - possible that some wire may have lost insulation and is abutting some metal part shorting it out.

Hello
Some kind of dead short is there. It may be inside the amp circuit of with outside wiring. You have to find it by meter check. Contact a auto electrician and let hinm detect the fault. OK.

Transformers and fuses keep blowing

If you are where it's warm and you are using air conditioning, have the technician check the coil in the relay in the outdoor unit. I replaced 2 transformers before I figured out the coil was shorted out and drawing too much current.

Hok up amp and all fuses blow on distribution block

somehow, DC car voltage has gotten to the speaker outputs of your amp! your fuses are saving your speakers from meltdown. your amp has melted down. toss it after checking with ohmeter as follows: disconnect amp completely. red wire from ohmmeter to +12Vin. black wire to SPK+. if ohms are anything below 1000 ohms, then toss it. An electrical short is equivalent to flooding your entire house with a leaky faucet. No telling what that rapid current will encounter along the amplifier section. you could get lucky and find all power MOSFETS have shorted and replace them. good luck.

AMP not workin

if you saw smoke something fried, im surprised it still kicks on at all. my best advice is if you kno how to use a soldering iron, see if you can locate the problem, (i.e. melted wires and such), if not best would be to look for a new amp. hope this helps
