My Zenith IQB50M90W is freaking out. I think it was struck by lightning. It won't come on, and when it is plugged in, it makes a chirping sound from the back. Also, there is a small green light that flashes with each chirp. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
I have unplugged the tv, plugged it into a different plug, and then left it unplugged overnight. Nothing seems to help!

Re: chirping & no power
It sure does sound familiar! The churping is most likly the power supply starting up and detecting an overload condidtion and shutting down. Or the power supply is trying to start up and cant but keeps retrying to. Unless you know how to trouble shoot SMPS Please leave this one to the pros.In a case like this One or maybe twp boards will mosy likly need replaceing or repaired if the tech you call in is decent. Good Luck

Ur Main Fuses in the circuits breaker box must be to be restart it back.Turn off/on all the fuses on the main circuits breaker box to all the fuses in the box of the box to restart. All ur electical power outlets should work again. If not those power plug in outlets are shorted and dead must have to be replaced.
j_mac_will, Zenith is owned by LG (lucky goldstar) but I think Zenith still has space in a building in Lincolinshire Illinois, Southwest quadrant of intersection Ill rte 22 and rte 21. maybe give them a call if you can find a number for them. louie12fix on fixya rate this if it was helpful!
As u have just said that it was struck by lightning the only way to get the TV back working is to replace burnt items on the moterboard .becouse lightning must have demaged some components on the power supply, if possible i would preffer a new power supply board
A service manual is available from http://www.servicemanuals.net for a download for about 24 bucks. I have An IcQ50H94W. Your problem sounds like a bad solder connection or a regulation problem. Good Luck
