Chirping & no power

My Zenith IQB50M90W is freaking out. I think it was struck by lightning. It won't come on, and when it is plugged in, it makes a chirping sound from the back. Also, there is a small green light that flashes with each chirp. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I have unplugged the tv, plugged it into a different plug, and then left it unplugged overnight. Nothing seems to help!

It sure does sound familiar! The churping is most likly the power supply starting up and detecting an overload condidtion and shutting down. Or the power supply is trying to start up and cant but keeps retrying to. Unless you know how to trouble shoot SMPS Please leave this one to the pros.In a case like this One or maybe twp boards will mosy likly need replaceing or repaired if the tech you call in is decent. Good Luck

I have a 58'' HP Pavillion Projection screen TV. It was struck by lightning. the power cord is good. It will not turn on at all, no fans running, etc. What do you think I will have to fix?

As u have just said that it was struck by lightning the only way to get the TV back working is to replace burnt items on the moterboard .becouse lightning must have demaged some components on the power supply, if possible i would preffer a new power supply board

Someone please help

Good Day;

Two things normally happens after a L storm:1.) One must unplug TV for 5 minutes, then plug back in. 2.) Main glass fuse out, will be near a/c cord. 3.( Power regulator IC may be out. Try these first.

Good Luck!

Tv wont turn on

Unplug it for 20 mins then try again plugged in.
It could be something as simple as an inline fuse but dont try opening the set EVER with it plugged in.

A service manual is available from http://www.servicemanuals.net for a download for about 24 bucks. I have An IcQ50H94W. Your problem sounds like a bad solder connection or a regulation problem. Good Luck PS please dont forget to rate this thread.
