Spacebar does not work.

My spacebar does not work. However, when I open the onscreen keyboard it shows the button as being pressed. Any solution??

Sounds like the rubber is stuck, take off your space bar (make sure you can put it back), make sure theres nothing on the little rubber peices, and put it back on

Wired and onscreen keyboard space bar doesnt work
Keyboards are cheap. If you need to use this one then you will need to carefully pop the spacebar key out, turn the keyboard upside down and give it a good shake. You will see a ton of junk fall out ;)

The far right and left ends of the spacebar do not work. In order to use the spacebar function, the direct middle of the button has to be pushed down.
You need to reposition (clip) the torssion bar under the spacebar key (a steel wire formed in a wide U shape), it is unhooked, call for a professionnal if you'r not sure how to do this as you may brake the plastic hinge if you don't know what you'r dooing...

Hi my keyboard started working erratically a few days ago. it's an A4tech keyboard. and at first while using photoshop the spacebar stops working then I would have to reset it to have it start working...
It sounds like the keyboard is starting to you can try a different keyboard if you have one and it that works your keyboard is bad. If your other keyboard doesn't work to your port were your keyboard is plugged into maybe going bad, let me now if any of this helps.

I recently have been having problems w/certain keys on my Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad. I used some wipes to clean it the other day...and almost immediately the spacebar & a lot of of other keys...
some of the fluid from the wipes must have short circuited the keyboard! you may have to invest in a new keyboard and keep it away from water based wipes this time!

Get a Electrical/Electronic solvent spray from RS, give it a good spray (with Power Off!) and operate it lots of times. The spray will evaporate naturally and may remove the gunk! Ian.

If so then this fix is for you.
1. Open the AutoText & Spelling screen. From the Jump screen, press the MENU button, then select Settings > AutoText & Spelling.
2. Uncheck the following settings:
    • Highlight misspelled words
    • Auto correct spelling
3. Exit out of the settings screen and try it out.
Hopefully, this will have solved your issue.
How to check for misspelled words with these two options unchecked?
Run a manual spell check on T-mobile Sidekick: To run a spell check while in a text field from any Edit Text submenu, or by using the keyboard shortcut by pressing MENU +S.

My keyboard is inserting spaces where they don't belong.  it is usually around R's, N's and spaces (I  press the   spacebar once it it inserts 2 or three spaces, the  faster I type the   worse it gets.)...
You should open the key board.and clean space key and change rubber cap.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back as requested, how things turned up or should you need additional information.
