try holding the menu button and the power button for about 20 secs. this will cause it reset, if this method doesn't work, then hold down the menu button, connect it to a PC then hold down the power button, if you have Itunes installed on your computer, it will alert you that it detects an Ipod in recovery mode, basically after that it'll attempt to fix your problem, and it will be able to turn on again.
to fix this problem go bak to calibrate and the screen will go blue and in the corners you will see a cross hit the crosses in order in 3 sec or less and the mp3 will go back to touch screen! if it works let me knoow via email [email protected]
This same thing happened to me. I was playing fantastic contraption and my ipod screen just went black and wouldnt turn back on. When I plugged it in to a charger, it made that charging noise, but wouldnt turn on. SOLUTION: try holding in the sleep/wake(power) button, and the home button at the same time for about 15 seconds or until you see the white apple logo. That worked for me, hope you get it fixed.
I had the same problem. I went to the Apple.com site and went to the trouble-shooting section. They said I needed to "reset" it. This is done by holding in both the turn on button on the face and the turn off button at the top. Hold in both at the same time for 10 seconds are more. That worked for me.
If that doesn't work, they also had something which required hooking it up to your computer, but that "fix" erases everything you have added to it. It's just like starting over.
Hope the first method works for you.
make sure u hold down home and sleep buttom for more than 11 seconds. After the allple logo shows up, press the home button...i had similiar problems as some of u, and this unfroze/ fixed my issue. Hopefully, it will work for u
Sometimes the player crashes with a blank black screen. It looks like
it's turned off, but it's actually hung. Try holding down the power
button for about 30 seconds, or until the player reboots itself.
My Sansa has a similar problem. Sometimes when the Sansa turns on (after the Sandisk logo) the screen will either turn black, blue, or black and white stripes. The player still works, but it is hard to navigate without the screen, obviously.
What I end up doing is letting the backlight turn off and then pressing any button. Sometimes when the screen comes back, the display is allright again. But sometimes it takes more than a few tries. Turning it off and on again seems to work a little better, but it is more time consuming.
