Our printer is new, only used it a short time. It says to run the self-test but I cannot find anything in the book that tells about it. The black ink is low and needs replacing and the left hand button is blinking a red light. My question is, does the printer refuse to print when the one cartridge is getting low. I have ordered new cartridges, but there is a lot of ink left in all the colors. Would appreciate it very much if you could help me, I have gone thru the book several times and cannot find a solution. I hit Print and it does nothing at all. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Most epson inkjets that use separate colour and black cartridges will not print if either the colour or the black cartridge is empty. The printers come with cartridges when new but they are only part full and more ink is used up filling the printer reservoir when first starting up. Replace your black cartridge and you should be able to print. barrie60s

Hi
The
ink reservoir doesnt have to be completely empty to fail. Replace the
cartridges. Some of the jets or all of them may be clogged especially if you
have not used your printer in a while. If there are cleaning instructions in
the manual clean the jets and then try to print from the printer's self test
