Question about Kenwood KAC-9102D Car Audio Amplifier
Installed the amp as per instruction manual yesterday. The power indicator light came on during the first test, but began to dim out. Again, without cycling the cars power, the light came on and dimmed again. It continued to do this, all while outputting no signal to the subs. When the car was powered on and off, the amp light will not come on anymore. All the wires were unplugged and replugged, but still no response.
I had the same problem installing my amp as well. My solution was a bad ground. I have an S-10 so finding the proper place to ground was tough, I now have it grounded to the drivers seat under the torque bolt.

Sounds as if you either have some bad wiring probably on the 12volt side or a major problem with the amp. Seeing as how it's new I'd be taking it back to the retailer. I just hope you didn't reverse the polarity of the 12 volts or maybe put 12 volts up a speaker output. That could mess with the warranty somewhat. Are you sure you have the 12 volts connected to a good solid supply and the earth a good one too. I always ensure any heavy drain equipment is connected directly to the battery with heavy duty wiring and well fused. BMW
