43fdx01 hitachi hello guys; ive got a 43fdx01b that i changed the convergence ic's on about a year ago. today its back in with a no start. found all the fault led's on in deflection board and on the power supply board.there are no fuses blown on any of the two boards. i would like to know where i need to start looking for this short. it seem that the h.o.t are ok and theres no discolored resistors around the convergence ic's. please respond [email protected] or here at fixya.com. thanx guys

You have a convergence problem, you will need to change the convergence IC's STK392-110, there is also 12 6.8 1w resistors that need to be changed, there is also 2 fusilbe resistors that may be open. You can probably Google the IC's as a kit and find them all in one kit.
You can fix this yourself and save about $300-$400 in repair bills.
According to the system the problem in your projection is convergence and the solution is to replace the IC STK's.The part Number is CZ01341. Change the IC STK both and your TV work fine again. And for parts please see the link below.
Try adjusting the convergence. If it won't move see below- (or hitting Magic Focus for some Hitachi’s) This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks! See link for more detail http://www.ehow.com/how_4575598_yourself-projection-tv-repair-convergence.html
This is a problem with the convergence circuit. If you can solder, try resoldering the pins on the convergence ICs. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the ICs. These ICs are large and black, attached to a heat sink and are marked STKxxx.
some times convergence IC's coused to put set in shutdown unloading the three convergence connectors and trying to turn on the tv if the set turn on the problem is convergence IC's if not check voltage regulator ...if still having problems e-mail me
Convergence IC's must be changed to start repair..original...
STK392-110 sub to Hitachi upgrade STK394-160E.....PART #
CZ 01341...you need two....
Next, take a critical look at the B+ feed resistors near the IC's..
check for over-heat / damage......usually 2.2 ohm 2 watt......
Let me know....................T.
Ditto CTF1800's comment....Check RP-41 1.5 ohm 2 watt and
other low value resistors near IC's mounted on large heatsinks.
STK392-110 original convergence IC's can be upgraded to
Hitachi # CZ 01341 new number STK394-160E for greater reliability.......Hitachi also has an IC / resistor kit # X480295,
but I don't change good resistors, only the bad one(s).
