The eMachines T5048 Desktop PC, uses the NexGen 2 computer case.
(Also uses an Intel D102GGC2 motherboard)

1) http://www.hypermicro.com/mmhypermicrocom/images/CSEC004.JPG

The front panel is the Front Bezel.
It is removed by grasping the right side of it, and pulling out, G-E-N-T-L-Y

There Power On switch wires, Power On LED wires, USB front panel wires, Card Reader wires, etc., are still attached.

(Page 47 - Removing the Front Bezel )

{ Note*
Usually there are plastic tabs formed out of the Front Panel, and they snap into slots in the metal computer case frame.

Usually 3 per side. They are flat, and have a hooked end.
They are pressed to the outside, or inside of the case, to release the hooked end away from the side of the slot.

LOOK at the tab. Look at the hooked end. SEE which direction THAT flat tab should be eased over to, in order to bring the hooked end away from the side of the slotted hole.

When the hooked end is in the middle of the slotted hole, the flat tab can then be eased OUT of the slotted hole.

DO NOT assume all tabs go in the same direction }

[ The area of contact pins on the motherboard, that the wires from the Front Panel go to, (Except for the USB and Card Reader), is the Front Panel header.

This link shows you the Front Panel header pinout,

Random shut off. Sounds like a relay click.

Could be due to getting too hot! Do you have it clear from any walls and or other PC products? If so give it some room to breath!! I have had my New Asus gaming tower turn off on me due to it getting too warm.

How do i reset my emachine t5048 to factory setting without the windows boot disc?

Some computers will have a recovery partition you can recover from it will prompt you as the computer is booting. Emachines are very low end computers and don't typically have a recovery partition. If you didn't create the recovery disc you will need to order it from Gateway's website as they own emachine. You can order recovery media from https://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx?brand=emachines

How do I remove the front tower panel to access the power button for replacement in my emachines T6212? Thanks!

Most front panels are held on by friction plugs that have a spring like function that expands into the hole. Gently pull on one end of the front panel and it comes off.

How to put the recovery partition back on the emachines t5048

As far as i know the only way is to run the restore disk from emachine that is for your model computer. (it usually wipes the computers hard disk in the process.)

the link below will take you to their support site for drivers.

on that site look for eMachines Recovery Media Purchase Program and you can see about ordering the recovery disk that you need.

My sound card is not installed on my computer because i did the recovery. where can i download one? it's a eMachines windows XP T Series T5048

Here's a link to the Emachine support page for your model. Scroll down to audio section and you should be able to download your sound drivers. If the sound still doesn't work after doing this download the chipset drivers and then try downloading the audio drivers again. Sometimes you need the chipset drivers first before the audio drivers will work. http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=T%20Series&model=T5048
