Whats a control jack on a sony SS-WG450 plug into if i'm hooking it to a JVC reciever?

No, it won't work. JVC changers work with JVC head units, Sony head units work with Sony changers. Even if the plugs are the same, it won't work.

Did you get a manual with it? According to the Sony site this speaker originates in Sony MHC-GX450.

As can be seen, the subwoofer has two connections to the mothership, very unlike the standard speaker level (+/-) speaker wire or RCA-Line-Level subwoofer out that 'normal passive or active subwoofers use, respectively.

Not knowing which of those your unspecified Pioneer receiver supports, it is impossible to say. Does your Pioneer have that control jack?

Mini-systems are generally not designed to be pieced out and used with grown-up gear. The absence of standardized connections is the clue.

If this is a house unit, it'll take 110V AC to power it up, then there is a voltage regulator after that that drops the voltage, so the electronics don't burnout.

PS 2 only supports stereo out of the box so you would need to run it through a surround sound reciever in order to obtain surround sound. You'd plug the red & white into an audio in jack on the back of the reciever. Hope this helps.

Even if your JVC doesn't have outputs for a subwoofer you can hook it up with the a speaker wire to RCA converter. You just spice your rear speaker wires to this device then connect RCA's to your amp. hi there might be a protector circuit and then it needs only a reset OR the amplifier and a couple of diodes have been shorted the fix can be very cheap (reset) or very expensive (depends if the amp itself is burned) in any way you got warranty!! (it wont work if you will say that you didnt hook it right....) good luck
