Washing machine My mp3 player (a Philips HDD1630 6 GB MP3 Player ) went through the washing machine and now I can't get it to work. Is there any way to fix it?

try to put it in raw rice (rice you use to cook with) in a bowl for a couple of days. My phillips go gear 4gb went thru the wash and i tried this and left it for a couple of days and it worked fine. The only problem ive had is keeping the battery charged for long periods. i hope this helps.

The firmware of your Philips GoGear SA1948 MP3 player has become corrupt.
Fix it by reflashing the system software, which you will find at the Philips website here.

Last week my mp3 went trew the wash becase i fogot it was in my poket how can i fix it

Dry the player with tissue paper or a dry cloth. Dont turn it on or charge until its fully dried. Now try to turn it on. Chances are less becuase if the water gets inside, it will damage the circuits. If you unit is still under warranty you can contact Philips support for a possible replacement. It has 90 days warranty.

I have magnavox mp3 player and it turn off as soon as I turn it on. Yes, new battery installed same problem.. Turn it on Magnavox sign is on as soon as button released turns off!

Frozen screen

The player can be reset if frozen by pressing and holding POWER ON & VOL+.

If the problem persists the only way to fix it is with Philips Device Manager. There is no Linux version available though.

Perhaps you can hijack a friends Windows PC to run it.

STMP3500 driver for PhilipsGogear 1 gb

The driver is installed when you install the Firmware Manager software on the product CD.

The player will show as STMP3500 when it is in recovery mode (usually caused by corrupt firmware)

Install the Frimware manager.

Connect the player.

If asked for a driver let Windows search automatically.

If you get a Signed Driver message just click ok to continue.

Run Firmware Manager and follow the on-screen prompts, and all should be well.
