When i turned it on shows a cartridge problems (color one), i replaced it , took it off, and the error persist, i cant even print in black. The E for error still showing and the light keeps blinking, anybody help me, please

Tri color cartridge contains Cyan,Magenta & Yellow color inks, mono cartridge contain black ink, combination/mixing with these inks desired color out put will prints on paper.. If any one or more inks are missing/dried, result mis matched print outs on paper.
In your case I feel it's Magenta ink is not firing..,nozzles may clogged, try to clean the nozzles with solvents & try it...If no result ,. replace the color cartridge..
Good Day Sir, hope this will help you. print cartridge troubleshooting for hp officejet 4315 : 1. Remove the black print cartridge from the slot on the right. Do not touch the ink nozzles or the copper-colored contacts. check for possible damage to the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles. 2. Reinsert the print cartridge by sliding it forward into the slot. Then push the print cartridge forward until it clicks into the socket. 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the tri-color print cartridge on the left side. 4. If the problem persists, print a self-test report to determine if there is a problem with the print cartridges. 5. If the self test report shows a problem, clean the print cartridges. 6. If the problem persists, clean the copper-colored contacts of the print cartridges. 7. If you are still experiencing problems with printing, determine which print cartridge is experiencing the problem and replace it.

the E error message is for 2 reasons.either its a paper jam in the printer or the cartridges r faulty.there r two cartridge 1colour and 1 black.as 1 of them may had gone faulty.just replace the cartridge and it will work properly.

I just recently had the exact same problem. I went to the HP site and went to the Software and Drivers section for software and patches to download. I scrolled to the very bottom and downloaded the one marked "HP Print Cartridge Utility" and installed it. It fixed it in about 5 seconds. I hope that helps!
