PHILIPS GOGEAR 6GB

I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS THING FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS, PURCHASED NEW FROM SAMS. THE POWER BUTTON AFTER 1 WEEK BEGAIN TO WORK SLOWLY, 2 DAYS AGO I COULD NOT TURN IT OFF, AFTER A LONG TIME I FINALLY GOT IT TO TURN OFF. NOW IT WON'T TURN ON . I HAVE TRIED IT WITH THE POWER CORD PLUGED IN TOO. I ALSO CHARGED IT OVERNITE, STILL NOTHING. PHILIPS MAKES SUCH GOOD PRODUCTS I CAN'T BELIEVE THE PROBLEMS I AM HAVING.

    well i trying to find a charger for this philips go gear but i anit haveing no luck . it the one with the touch botton that has the slide thing in the middle the light are blue on it . and i have no clue were to get em at

The same thing happened to me. I contacted Philips and they sent me this solution, which worked for me. Question My GoGear has no power/no display even connected to the power supply with the AC adapter. What should I do? Answer Do a soft reset by pressing and holding the Power On/OFF button and the volume + key for a couple of seconds. Then connect your GoGear to a power outlet with the AC Adapter to charge the player again for around 30 minutes. Try turning the unit back on and see if the display appears. If the display is able to come on again, keep the player connected for another 3-4 hours until it is fully charged before use, else contact our Customer Care Center for assistance.

Have you tried pressing the power button and the + volume at the same time. it will turn on. i have a different problem, I LOST MY CHARGER!

All it says is to "please connect player to PC" then when i plug it in that goes away and brings the pic up and thats it

Have you tried resetting it? This is what the Philips website says to do: Question How do I reset my GoGear if it freezes or hangs up? Answer Try doing a soft reset. Press and hold the Power On/Off key and the Volume + key for a couple of seconds. Then switch on the GoGear using the Power On/Off key. Note: Your songs and data will not be lost or corrupted by a soft reset. I tried that and it worked for me. I would try that before sending it back to Philips.

You should go on the phillips website and then see how to send the product in. They will probabley replace it if it's under warrenty.

Frozen on gogear screen

Philips GoGear Firmware Upgrade
You need to get the latest firmware upgrade from the Philips website:
1. Go to www.philips.com/support
2. Enter your country/language
3. Enter your model # SA6045 or whatever
4. Click on the link for your exact model # (the one w/o the "B" in it)
5. Click on "Software & Drivers"
6. Download the updated "Device/Firmware Manager"
7. Once installed, open the Philips Device Manager
8. Click on the "Update" tab, then the "Update" button (with your mp3 player connected to the computer, of course)
9. Your Mp3 players firmware will update automatically
If you do not have the latest version of the Philips Device Manager installed (the latest is the version from the Philips website), then clicking the "Update" button will give you a false positive saying "The firmware on your device is already up to date."

1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new
