Hi people, Am having an electrician replace the board with the powerswitch on it in my PSP and it wont start up. And i was wondering if anyone can find a service manual for a PSP to allow him to test the voltages inside for what else may be wrong. If anyone can point me in the right direction i would be grateful. Thanks Jamie
Try http://www.servicemanuals.net They should have it for $15.00.
How do you work the world wide web. on PSP
There may be a bios that can be reseted, that's for sure..!
My son accidently turned off his psp while it was uploading. Now his screen is dark and there is no sound. The green light indicates that the system is receiving power. When he places his memory stick in the computer, it displays the information, but he cannot get any response from his system. Will I have to replace it or is there another way to correct his system?
I got a used psp and I don't know how to change the backgound! The game that I have has a background I want but I still can't put the background on my psp. How do I out my background on my psp?

Thanks for the help guys. there was no service manual, but i found the guy was not really trying - i had bought a whole new board that contained the powerswitch and flex cable, i also had a mod-chip place do the replacement its now fixed.
DO NOT allow him to try to solder the new switch on. Just pull the metal clip off the old switch, and replace the GUTS of the switch.
Sony likely will never release service manuals for their systems, especially game devices. Game device repair is either very simple, or send-in, unfortunately. However, for most systems, Sony has a flat-rate repair - send it to them, they fix it and send it back, you pay one fee regardless of the problem.
