PSP service manual

Hi people, Am having an electrician replace the board with the powerswitch on it in my PSP and it wont start up. And i was wondering if anyone can find a service manual for a PSP to allow him to test the voltages inside for what else may be wrong. If anyone can point me in the right direction i would be grateful. Thanks Jamie

My son accidently turned off his psp while it was uploading. Now his screen is dark and there is no sound. The green light indicates that the system is receiving power. When he places his memory stick in the computer, it displays the information, but he cannot get any response from his system. Will I have to replace it or is there another way to correct his system?

DO NOT allow him to try to solder the new switch on. Just pull the metal clip off the old switch, and replace the GUTS of the switch.

Sony likely will never release service manuals for their systems, especially game devices. Game device repair is either very simple, or send-in, unfortunately. However, for most systems, Sony has a flat-rate repair - send it to them, they fix it and send it back, you pay one fee regardless of the problem.

Wont turn on has red light just wont go any idea wich capacitor it will be or roughly how much for electrician to fix

Not with any capacitor. Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

My psp wont turn on how do i reset it

When a PSP is not powering ON what you can do here for first troubleshooting is to remove the battery out then put it back and try to power it ON , but make sure that you PSP battery is charge , so if it still wont power ON try to charge the PSP for several minute and then power it back on.

After doing those and still no sign of life with the PSPS it needs a servicing already take it now to a repair center near you to have the board check.

GA-M57SLI-S4 wont power up !!! what to do !

Hi check the cables from the case to the mother board. They should be marked and the manual that came with the board ,this show you where to connect them on board The std markings are HDD [red led] PWR S [powerswitch] RSW [reset switch] PWR LED [case power light] in most cases check to see if this is correctly connected
To test if there is no fault in the board or power pack. first visualy check the board to see if it shows a red led light when the power is turned on, if not the problem is in the power pack or the wall outlet.
second if the light is on, bridge the pins marked pwr switch on the board with a screw driver and this should start the computer, check the processor and ram if not you have a faulty board.

Wont turn on - new circuir board, cos we thought that was prob

Replace your battery or use a known good battery from a friends psp. That's a good place to start. Start at the power source first and work your way through the system eliminating the hardware parts as you go. PSP is very touchy so be careful not to brick it.

Psp

Hi it could be something a simple as dust and if you use a blest of air will sometimes cure this problem also had the games been in the van aswell the other problem could bo one of two the first is it could have got damp over night and if this is the cse it will need to be stripped down and all teh board will need to be cleaned before it starts to corode.
the second problem could be if the unit has got to hto then the chances are it isnt going to be cheap to fix you probably wouldnt find the fault yourslef as you will need secialist equipment to test all the circuit equipment on the board to find the problem let me know how you get on.
The only cheap fix is to buy a damaged psp and replace the circuit board you might gt one from auction with damaged screen therefore the board might be ok let me know how you get on
