Picture issues When we first turn on the tv, the screen is black for a few seconds with very think green lines on the screen. You can still barely see them when we are watching a show and there seems to be a very subtle flickering of the picture.

the problem is vertical collapse,i am not so sure you can trouble shoot this on your own but you can send the board to eithor pts electronics or tristate module for repair
to get a price get the number off the sticker--left hand board(looking from the back) it will start CTC195---- write down entire number before you call them
I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.
