This tv has the red lines, red screen, shuts off with blinking led. I replaced the 100mf 160v cap and resoldered the wire wound resistor. The only thing that changed was the tv stays on and can now be turned on and off without unplugging it. Any help would be appreciated. Mark.
I would look for an open resistor in the red drive circuit on the CRT board. Check all the components in the red circuit and replace any which are not within tolerance. The resistor could be from a 1 ohm to 10 ohm depending on the model. If you find no bad parts then check for cracked solder connections on the board and resolder. If this does not work you will need a scope to look at the signal going to the red drive transistor and make sure that it is correct. Anything beyond this will require a repair shop. Remember TV safety. Good luck.
