Many dvd units have a small hole on one side of the tray which is a means of opening the tray when there is a load problem. If yours has this use a paper clip to push in on the bar behind the hole. This should unlock the door and allow you to fully open the tray and remove the disk. If your unit does not have this feature you will have to remove the back of the set. Unplug unit first. Remove the cover from the DVD player and perhaps the circuit board if it is in the way. This should allow you access to remove the disk. Reassemble the unit and with any luck you should be back in buisness. Good luck.

Why is my DVD ejecting with or with out a disc

Sounds like the drive is dirty. If it takes too much torque to turn the DVD the linkage usually ejects the disc just in case the disc was insert incorrectly

DVD stuck in

About the only way I would tackle this is to take apart the unit and free it.

My built-in dvd will not work.

hello,

The most common reason for the system not reading discs is a bad drive. The following website sells the drives and does installs:

store.richspsxparts.com/wiiredvddr

This drive should fix any reading issues you are having with your games, or issues inserting your games or ejecting them (or lack thereof). This is the entire DVD drive assembly mechanism replacement for your system including a new laser. If your discs are not ejecting, or you cannot insert a disc -- or you can insert a disc but it will not load, this is what you need to get your system going again!
Hope this will help....

A dvd is stuck in the drive. It resists all attempts at removal including the ''eject cd'' command in Open Firmware. Can I manually remove it?

The iMac (Slot loading) computer's disc eject mechanism is electrical instead of mechanical. To eject a CD-ROM disc at startup that contains system software, press the mouse button until the computer ejects the disc. If the disc does not contain system software, wait for the iMac to start up and drag the disc icon to the Trash.

If either of these steps fails to eject the disc, push the drive's manual eject button with a small, blunt object like a paper clip. This button is located to the right of the CD/DVD slot as shown in Figure 1. The computer must be turned on to eject a disc in this manner.

ht3007_1.gifFigure 1 Manual eject button

Once the disc is ejected, it extends just beyond its center hole so you can remove it from the drive. If the disc fails to eject, while holding in the paper clip, use another CD to gently push against the inserted CD. This gentle pressure may help to release the inserted CD.

Important: After ejecting the disc with the manual eject button, you must restart the iMac in order for the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive to work.

i think the cd or dcd disc inside stuck-up you have to insert the tiny hole located at the dvd rom and insert a needle or something that is similiar or smaller of the hole size of that locted in your dvd rom.usually its new the LED blinking when opening or inserting the disc. and now you can now eject your disc manually regarding your question about it won't play a dvd try first to clean your DVD disc with a micro fiber cloth, avoid you'll scratch it, if still the same i think you're dvd room is defective.
