Had the same thing happen to me today and in my case it was a code 18 as they come...
It started while I was installing a video card adapter for a dual monitor setup. The solution - I had to simply close the side panel I had left open for testing and then reboot the server. The intrusion alarm went off.

You must figure out if there is a harddrive controller running the drives. If this is a striped array I suggest calling support. Pulling all drives and it gets through the POST process the board is fine. Do not swap HDD slots unless you suspect a backplane failure. Most modern controllers support drive roaming, but why chance it....(if you have a hotswap bp)

SOURCE: We have a Dell Poweredge

Go into the RAID setup during bootup (not always in the BIOS), but will post somewhere on startup (should say SCSI/SAS Controller card press CTRL + M to enter setup) or similar.

When in the raid setup check to see the status of the drive(s).

Was the machine running and it's just happened etc or are these machines you have obtained and are plain not working?

SOURCE: dell poweredge 830 server orange flashing light

its the cover switch. there is a small push switch on the front panel that detects if the front cover has been removed, either the switch is defective, or the cover is not seating properly to close the switch.

Observe front panel LCD blink continuous Dell Power Edge R610 1U server. When press next to button "i" its convert steady amber not steady blue. Kindly suggest.

Blinking blue means that the server identify button is toggled on, if it turns to amber it means that the server may have a failure in the logs, if the server boots normally you can get the a DSET (it contains hardware log), if it doesn't boot you can get it from the iDRAC (if available). You can download DSET here:

Great thanks,

That's just a system indicator flash. Solid blue means on and normal, blinking means someone either turned on the system indicator in the management software or bumped the indicator switch on the back of the server. This was designed to make easier transitions from back to front when working with multiple servers in a rack. To turn the indicator off, just go to the back of the server and find the Ethernet and usb ports that are together. If the usb is the bottom and Ethernet port is the top then just to the right you should see a small blue blinking light and a button, pushing the button wil turn the blinking off.

Again, no worries this is just a "locator beacon" not an error message, if the light ever blinks yellow then you have an issue.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris

Powers On if I plug it in, and power supply fan runs...

Think of blinking amber as the initial state of the LED. As long as the system is receiving power from a power source and can pass that power through the system board to the LED on the Control Panel it should, at least, blink amber. As a result, a blinking amber Power Button LED is a reliable indicator that the system is receiving power from a power source. This, in turn, tells us that the source and power cord are likely to be functional. The Blinking Amber LED also tells us that the power supply to system board connection is good as well as the connections between the system board, I/O Panel and Control Panel. Depending on the components installed and the condition of those components, the LED may progress past blinking amber and move to solid amber. If the LED does not progress past blinking amber it indicates that the system is not able to properly distribute power to the system components. This is discussed in the next section of the interaction.

It does not indicate that the power supply is bad. It simply indicates that, for whatever reason, one of the power supply 'rails' is not operating within its specified range or, simply, that there is a short somewhere in the system.
The LED state could be the result of a misconfigured or incorrectly installed system component. A bad drive, for example, may be shorting out one of the rails. Incorrectly installed memory can cause a blinking amber front panel power button LED.
