Put the card back into the camera and use the camera's "Format" command. This will erase EVERYTHING on the card and prepare it for further use.

If you require further assistance, please add a comment to this question and specify the model of your Sony camera.

SOURCE: I cannot upload pictures/ videos from my PNY 8GB memory stick.

The newer large capacity cards in cameras designed for smaller capacity cards seem to have trouble interfacing with our computers. The best best is to get a high speed firewire memory card reader and attach it directly to your computer.
This should allow your computer to recognize your card and also allow you quicker downloads.

SOURCE: PNY Optima SD HC 8GB isnt working on laptop

I think that your computer doesn't recognize this hc memory type device format. If you buy an inexpensive memory card reader (less than $10 in many computer stores) it will read that type of memory without a problem. I know, I just went through this.

SOURCE: 8gb PNY micro sd card isn't recognized in my samsung Alias

If the phone failed to format the SD card, try to format it through your computer. Connect the phone through the USB port located at the back of the tower. You'll be prompted that the PC detected 2 USB drives, the phone and the SD card. You will see it by going to My Computer folder. From there, right click the Letter drive represents the SD drive then select Format. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: My 4GB PNY Optima sd card will not read

Try the 4GB card in some other reader, or your camera, to confirm that it does work.

It's possible that your card-reader will not support anything over 2GB.

PNY optima sdhchd 8gb won't read in my Kodak easy

What model Kodak EasyShare camera? Some of them only work with SD cards, not with SDHC cards. The same applies to kiosks. Make sure the slot is marked "SDHC' and not simply "SD".

The only sd card i can find locally is an 8gb marked PNY SD HC it says on the packaging that this is new technology and only compatible with SD HC host devices. Is this card suitable for the Vivitar...

To be correct, the 8GB card is not an SD card but an SDHC card.

The 925DVR can use both SD and SDHC cards, up to 32GB in size. There should be no problems with the PNY card.

Can not erase images. I delete them and they still are on the card. PNY OPTIMA SD 2GB card

try putting the card in your computer and deleting them from it while it is in computer or try deleting them while it is in camera if this does not work and it is a new card not old you should ask the manufactuer/store you bought it from (could be defected)

My pny 2gb micro sd memory card is write-protected, i couldn't store or delete any files. what should i do? pls help me.

First check to see if it has a slide bar any where on the card itself to lock/unlock.

second download and install Sony EzRecover....

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/Other-DRIVERS-TOOLS/Others/Sony-EzRecover.shtml

and use it to format the card (which will erase all data).
If that doesn't work select Control Panel --> Administrative Tools--> "Disk Management. Select the micro SD drive and click Delete. Right-click on empty drive and select New Partition.

Camera freezes up

Use a higher quality SD card. PNY or SanDisk usually works well with flash camcorders. Also make sure it's a HCSD card ( High Capacity ).

I have a PNY optima sd 2gb memory card and it tells me on my samsung camera card error. What does this mean?

My Sanyo camera says my sd card it full when it absolutely is not. Ive even tried uploading pictures to my computer and it tells me there is an issue. It just suddenly did this one day and I think I've lost about 150 photos from Easter and other things that I can't get back and worse I can't take any pictures with my camera now.
