A problem such as this is usually the B+ supply voltage going to the sound IC. It could also be a defective audio processor or audio output IC. These are things that you, as the consumer can't replace, unless you know how to unsolder and solder, and also you have to be aware of the hi voltage inside these sets as well. It shouldnt be a major repair but could run in the range of 150 to 300 bucks depending on what the exact problem is. This number im posting here is for toshiba's service, so they can recommend someone close to you who knows about these sets. Good Luck

Low volume on my panosonic

If you are using a cable box or other device upstream, look into it's volume. Typically source units would like to be 30 to to% volume, with the tv or stereo being the final control. What happens is the source volume gets turned too low, and then the final unit (tv or stereo) has to have so much volume to hear anything, distortion and poor sound result. Start with both midway and you should be good to go.
This presumes that you toggled any buttons that said mute or attenuate...

HI. i just bought the TV -USED - and the sound does not work. Turned all the way up on the remote and TV. You can barely hear it. Is it worth fixing? thanks Teresa

change the inputs cables on the back of the TV and see if that helps. You will have to go in the menu of the tv and change it to. 1st turn down the volume of the tv.

I cant hear the tv

Hello drive2darim,

OK first check you converter box, Cable TV/ Satellite TV volume control and turn it up to 100%.

Then check the menu on your TV for audio settings and set them to there default settings. This should take care of this issue.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Cannot hear the sond on Sylvannia TV 6615LCT

This will sound strange, but some DVD players and cable boxes have separate volume controls. I would check the settings for both of those to make sure that the volume has not been turned down and also check the connections from the dvd player and cable box to the tv. Make sure all connections are solid.

Hooked up to sony bravia 52" tv and can barely hear sound

You'll want to turn of the TV speakers in the Remote Menu and try turning up the volume level of the TV, which usually controls the level of the RCA outputs, as well

Audio fade

if there is no problem with the surround sound, you have a problem with the volume regulation circuit or with the main amp of this TV set, But to say the least is you have a backup to fix your problem, with the sound system, you said it works fine. this could run ya about 250 to 400 to repair. Good luck.
