My Acer Aspire L100 will no longer power on. An LED in front does light up when plugged in, but nothing happens when I push the power button. No noises or anything. I have removed the ram, the hard drive and the DVD drive and still it won't make a sound. I wonder if although I have an LED lit up, if the power cord is shot... Otherwise, I have no clue
My brother had the same problem with his machine. On doing some research online I came across this site:
http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/portal20.cfm?website=AcerPanAm.com&siteid=7117&areaid=2&formid=3390#results
It gave the following 2 solutions to the problem. The first one workedfor a while but then we had to try the second and this seems to havesolved the problem.

I was using a videogame when, suddenly, a blue screen appeared saying there was some error related to "memmory dump" or something like that and that Windows had to be shut down. The screen said that if this was the 1st time this thing happened to me I should restart the CPU, but when I pressed the button to shut it down I couldn't power it on later... Even though I unplugged and unplugged it different times and did different things, it no longer turns on nor makes any kind of noise...
Aside from the overheating and the noise, my L100 also started to turn off by itself until it just died and won't start anymore.
same problem here no power seems like a manufacturers issue
