Round yellow glow

Have a Zenith M52W56LDC. There is a round yellowish glow towards the center of the tv. Is especially evident on black and white movies, but also shows up in color, casting a yellow glow that fades towards the edges of a 6 in or so diameter circle. Have had the tv for 14 months, and nine months ago the ballast and lamp were replaced. Any ideas?

Your problem is caused by a pre polarising filter becoming discoloured with heat. I am sure zenith supply a replacement filter for about $50 US which is more than can be said for LG. I have been searching in vain to find an article which refers to part numbers for the filter. If you do find a part number for it please post it on the forum so other people all over the world with the same fault can obtain it. I have stripped down the light engine on many of these sets and believe me it is not that difficult, just time consuming

Can't fix the color - really blue or really yellow.

Probably Blue CRT shot. Put tint back to center and turn color level to 0. Should look good black and white pic. If blue CRT shot, will look yellowish; usually more yellow around perimeter.

Oven doesnt come on most likely its the ignitor but i dont have a meter to ohm it out and dont know the sequence of operation like a furnace cause usually if u have that u know what steps to take to...

Hi, if you don't have an ohms meter the best way to check is fire up the boiler if it works then the problem most likely is with the ig niter. Either the ig-niter will glow or it wont. If it does not glow check it for a crack or evidence of damage. You should see scorching a crack or just basically broken. If it glows check to see what color it glows. Uneven yellowish/orange? it's bad replace it. Even bright yellow to the point where you can't look at it? It may be good. Mike

Connect your video source [cable, satellite, etc] to your dvd and connect your dvd to your tv. Get back if you still have a problem.

16 yr old 25" Zenith..1st colors went yellow/lime now TV is dead

Absolutely not worth repair. You have described a classic symptom of Zenith picture tube failure, and about 99% of the time the main board in the TV is ruined as well. You've gotten good life from the set (manufacturers figure tube life is around 7 years these days), so it's time to replace it.

Mitsubishi CS-40707 Greenish/Yellowish Display

Yeah, I had mine checked for the same thing. The "blue" - There's only three - red yellow blue- portion of your tube died. Not repairable. Last I checked it costs at least $1,000 for a new 40 inch tube. Good luck. Mine went to the garbage dump!
