I went to start a wash and just as i did i forgot to put in a top and tried to open the door but it wouldnt open, i continued wash and at the end of the machine bleeped as normal to unload washing but i cannot now open door. I did another wash to see if it would release it but it still wont open. I have tried turning off the power and on again and this does nothing either.
You hear the sound of the door lock unlocking at the end of the cycle but it seems the handle is jammed and wont open door, any ideas?

My wash stopped halfway through , and made 3 quick bleeps every few seconds, the door will not open , filter ok, it was towels so may be overload but I have tried turning the machine off at the mains for 10 min but nothing, I'm considering smashing the door in any other ideas lolMy wash stopped halfway through , and made 3 quick bleeps every few seconds, the door will not open , filter ok, it was towels so may be overload but I have tried turning the machine off at the mains for 10 min but nothing, I'm considering smashing the door in any other ideas lol

Hi. Try un-pluging machine, take off top lid slide your hand down between casing and drum until you find lock, then try flicking door casp while trying to open door gentely. when open replace door lock before using again.
I'm afraid I don't have a solution, just the same problem. Exactly this has just happened to me and I don't know what to do. Calling out an engineer will be too expensive and in the mean time, I can't do any washing.

This is a common and easily fixed problem. The door should NOT be opened after the wash is completed. You have to wait for AT LEAST 2 minutes to try the door, do not use force. There is a built in mechanism for most front loaders to delay the door opening, so be patient. In your case you might have already damaged the door lock, so replace. You are lucky if the door can be opened after the lock sign goes off - otherwise you just have to change the door lock. Click if helped.
most of the time. its the door switch that causes this. if door is closed and it does not start, its the door switch. try this! unplug power, remove the door switch, hook the wires from switch together. this will make a complete curcuit.put black tape on wires so it wont short out. plug back in. it should work, if it runs ok door switch is bad. good-day !
Mike, you probably have a failed interlock...The latch which locks the door during the wash. It has an internal switch...That's why the machine wont start till the door is closed.....Most probable answer is to replace the interlock...If you want to do it yourself, you'll have to undo and refit the door seal...Or...It's not a big job for a tech...Good luck....Nomess
Turn the power off and leave for 5-10 minutes then turn on. This should release the door lock the problem could be the pump drain filter is blocked clean this and it should resolve future problems.
TURN MACHINE ON TO FINISH CYCLE THEN RE WASH WITH SOAP ETCH,DOOR WILL NOT OPEN MID CYCLE SAFTY LATCH,YOU CAN TURN PROGRAM TO FINAL SPIN TO EMPTY MACHINE AND FINISH PROGRAM THEN DOOR WILL OPEN
Front Loading Washing Machine: Fully automatic. 1. Better washing than toploading as technologically proofed. 2. No extra effort except putting cloths and detergent inside.3. No need to observe
in between while washing.Start and forgot. You can go market and come back. 4. No issue if electricity or water went out during washing. 4. Take more water compare to toploading semi-automatic. 5. You can not open it once it started.
Top Loading Washing Machine: Semi 1. Save water and detergent. 2. Need extra effort to put the cloth from one box to another.

Something has caused the washer to not release the door. Is there an error code that is flashing (FE?). A locked door can be due to too much water in the basket, suds causing false water detection (should be using HE), or perhaps the drain is clogged.
If you are sure that the water is not going to spill out on floor, then you might be able to get door open by unplugging the unit and waiting a few minutes (mine took an hour) for the electric lock to release.
Potential reasons for it:
- Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure - In this case it should be replaced.
- Door Lock unit is broken or removed from the door.
- Look for disconnected wires to the door Lock/Switch unit.
- Door Lock/Switch unit Failure
You should remove machine's top cover and then you will have an access to the door lock unit.
Be aware you should discconect machine's power cable first !!
Good luck!
