I have a Samsung HCL4715W 47 in. Rear Projection Television.
All of a sudden I have this problem with a red flickering on the screen.
If I peek through the back of the tv into the vents I can see a red flickering.
Is my TV hosed?
Thanks for any help

Re: TV Flickers red lines across tv screen
Sounds like you have an intermitant overdrive situation on the red CRT. This could be caused by a bad component on the Red CRT board, an intermittantly shorting CRT or the circuitry in the main board. You should not run it until the problem is resolved as you could damage the CRT if it is not already bad. This is something that unless you are a qualified tech you are not going to have any success resolving. It should not be very hard for a good tech to diagnose the problem. Costs will depend on the part which is bad. If it is the red CRT it probably is not worth fixing, but it could be a 50 cent capacitor. Certainly worth the cost of a service call. Good luck.

Yes,this tv can be fix it have convergence problems. The convergence board the 2 STK covergence ICS are defective and some or all it resistors are dead. The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.
It sounds like a convergence problem to me also. The average cost to repair this TV is around $450.00-$500.00.
Call another service company that is factory authorized to service your TV. Also, try calling your manufacture and explaining your concerns and ask if will pay for repair or at least for the parts. Have model, serial numbers and purchase date at hand.
The convergence board wont correct the problem. You need to replace the two Convergence ICs on the sub board STK392-040 and you will be back to normal. See my response above. That site will help you get it back to normal.
