Damby ddr451 I just bought my dehumidifier. It says that when you first plug it in the green power light flashes till you hit the power button and then it stays solid green. Well, I hit every button and nothing. is always flashes. All I can do is turn it back off. when I turn it on again. it Flashes green again. nothing else happens

Plug in and the light just beeps. Everything checks out ok other than it wont run. Safety switch moves freely and takn is on correctly. Any ideas other than it stinks?

Check your tank. Remove it and look to be sure that there isn't any shipping foam or foreign objects in the area which may be keeping the safety switch open. If the area is clear check the switch to make sure that it is not stuck and it moves freely. If that is OK replace the tank and make sure that it is installed completely and correctly. Try it again. If it still does not work I would take it back to the store and have them check it out under the warranty. Good luck.

What size of hose or tubing do I use to connect directly to my de humidifier, to drain directly into a drain. Thanks. I have model DDR451

A 48' long piece of garden hose will work fine. Connect the female hose connection to the unit's hose connector and be sure that the hose slopes down and straight to the floor drain. Drainage thru the hose relies entirely on gravity. Be sure to set the humidity extraction level low (32 - 35%) for continual operation.

I hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa..

I have a new Danby Model #DDR6009REE and have set it up and while the fan operates no water accumulates in the tank. Pressing the switch inside makes no change.

Danby DDR451 water tank

I had this to. Check to see if there is any packing tape just above the tank. The tape on mine was not tapping the tank shut; it had been there for a year (not interfering with anything), but i pulled it all out anyways, and the tank let go!

that's what worked for me... hope this helps

Danby water tank

this part is the indicator to activate the interlock that stop your deshumidifier when water tank is full. It activate a switch on the top right of the placeholder of the tank. when the switch is relaesed it tells you either thank is not there or full and light a red signal. the center of the wheel should be back the pivot. if the pivot is broken, i don't suggest you to forced the switch activated unless you use the direct drain, or you might have water spilled over a full bucket! Does not turn on

All dehumidifiers have an interlock to prevent them from running when the tank is out. This is to avoid a mess with not tank for the water to collect in. I would say that your interlock switch is in a position which is telling the machine that there is no tank in the unit. Take the tank back out and look into the space with a flashlight to find the switch. It could be on the bottom or the top. Your operation manual might be helpful in locating the switch. Once you find the switch check it for operation. It should move or depress when the tank is put in. It probably is jammed and you will have to determine whether it can be fixed or you may need to replace it. If it moves freely then it is probably defective and will need to be replaced. Good luck.
