My recent post about the power brush of my Hoover s3614 vaccum cleaner not working is wrong. I just examined it again and saw that one of the wires going into the brush is severed. So that's that. Is there any way for me to do the repair?

Re: Hoover Vacuum correction
I don't know what is your experience with wire's soldering, but you should remove the insulation from the damaged wire and solder the disconnected edges. Then wrap an insulation band on the repaired wire first and then on all the other wires.
Be aware power cable is disconnected !!!!
If you can't do it by yourself - repair cost for it should be very cheap.
Good luck !!

Hello! The air pressure from the motor is most likely spinning the brushes in the upright position. This vacuum has a brush-roll on/off pedal located on the left side of the cleaner. To activate the brushes, power the vacuum on, recline the handle and then press the brush-roll on/off pedal. The brushes should begin to spin. If they do not the belt may need to be replaced. Hope this helps!
i WAS LOOKING AROUND FOR A SERVICE MANUAL FOR MY F5897900 CARPET CLEANER AND I SAW SOME THING ABOUT HAVING TO "PRIME" THE PUMP. YOU PPARENTLY TAKE THE TOOL HOSE AND HOLD YOUR HAND OVER IT FOR ABOUT 15 SECONDS. THIS MAY OR MAY NOT WORK.
ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND A SERVICE MANUAL FOR A HOOVER CARPET CLEANER? SEEMS TO BE A VERY CLOSELEY GUARDED SECRET.
http://www.geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=618767&thid=407245 Hoover Steam Vac Clean Surge Posted by just a brat on Feb 22, 2008 I can not seem to get the attachment for the upholstery cleaner to operate what am i doing wrong???? Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The attachment works on the suction from the Hoover Steam Vac and it’s either a straight suction tool or a revolving brush, check the front of the machine to see if the is a switch to turn on and odd, also before you attach the upholstery tool check the end of the hose for suction, it may be that your upholstery tool may be clogged or the brushes are not spinning and a part may be broken. Feel free to check with you local vac dealer or a new or a good used part if you find out what is wrong. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://www.hoover.comTelephone Contact our Customer Service Department at 1.330.499.9499 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST Don – The Vac Man Go Ahead.Use Us.
