I uninstalled drivers now pc shows a blank screen on reboot

I uninstalled the nvidia drivers from the control panel, the pc froze immediately after that. I reset the pc and now it shows a blank screen on bootup accompanied by 3-4 beeps. There is no bios information or any other text on reboot. I've never heard of a card dying after uninstalling drivers so is there some way of hardware reseting the card via jumpers or a way of resetting the bios or something ?

I've tested the card on another pc and it has the same problem. The pc starts up with a blank screen, no bios bootup information displayed. You can't see anything on the screen, so it may or may not be getting into windows (safe/normal mode)either.

I returned the card to the store and it was confirmed dead. The store has given me a credit since they don't have any other 6600gt's in stock. I'm now deciding between a XFX 7600GS and a MSI 6800GS.

Its a shame though the 6600gt I bought was really cheap.

    Thanks again for the comments.

Turn your PC's power to off and disconnect its power cable. Open the PC and move the graphic card to a new PCI slot connector. Connect the power cable and turn your PC to on. Reinstall card's drivers (from the CD you get with the card). Let us know with your resultes. Good luck.

Where can I find a driver/adapter for Advent X19W LCD Monitor?

Goto device manager , uninstall the card. go into control panel and check that the driver is uninstalled from the programs list. Swich of the pc for a minute or two then reboot Windows updares does not download drivers for graphics cards so will not install or reinstall the driver that is causing the issue, 307? Users forget to uninstall from program manger in control panel which is why the card keeps reinstalling with the undesired driver.

Installing RHEL 5 on ACER ASPIRE 4530

1) Get SATA drivers for Windows (whatever flavour you use)
For you who want to get driver AHCI for Acer 4530, the driver can be download here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/196616727/Driver_AHCI_Acer_4530_-_Windows_XP.rar

2) Control Panel, Add New Hardware.
3) Yes, already connected, browse to the bottom, hit “add a new device”
4) No, point it to the directory of your SATA drivers
5) Choose your driver from the list that returns. (Mine was the nVidia SATA controller)
6) Uninstall other standard IDE controllers (Not Primary nor Secondary)
7) Reboot and enter your BIOS
8) Change to AHCI mode
9) Boot to Windows… , if you success you will not meet the Blue Screen and Windows will install and find the driver automatically.
10) Windows wants to reboot. Do that.
11) Go to Device Manager and then uninstall the AHCI controller that you installed (there will be two or more now, but must Uninstall the one with the exclamation mark)
12) Success!

Laptop dispalys to monitor but laptop panel cannot be activate

Hi,

Thanks for all the details..

The issue seems to be with the video card drivers here...

Go to www.hp.com/suport and download the latest video card and the chipset drivers

before you download ...uninstall the nvidia chipset or any display software from program and features.

after you have installed the software.. go to the nvidia control panel > setup multiple monitors. and browse throughout the options >
It should be dual display and not extended display.

Also try with a new user profile...

Hope this helps..
Regards,
Anup
