Response time not where it used to be

I have a Sony DSC-F717 which I have loved - bought it about 4 years ago and have taken approx. 9000 photos. Over the past 3-4 months I have noticed that the response time has been more and more sluggish - in recharge time, time to take a second shot, even the time from when I depress the shutter to when the shot is actually 'taken'. I'm missing way too many shots. Can a new battery help, or is this just age of the camera, or what can I do? Thanks for any help.

Hi I have the sony DSC-H1 and I have noticed that my response time while using the flash is extremely slower than it used to be. I have used fully charged batteries and even purchased new batteries and they are fully charged and I still get a really slow recharge time with the flash. Any suggestions?

As the number of pictures on the memory card increases the response time will slow down. Take those 9,000 pics off your camera and transfer them to CD-R. Then delete them from the memory card.

How does resetting the camera have anything to do with recharging the battery? And could you explain exactly where the reset switch is? Thanks

I do not think the problem has anything to do with the batteries. but any way replacing the battery is the easiest thing. try pressing the reset button on the camera. it seems that there is a software clash with the machine or improper setting of the modes. reseting may help you.

Reddish cast in photos, white objects look pink.

Hello dcmassey, the cause of the problem can be CCD imager. So, the best solution is to claim for Sony recall. If there is some other problem ask for the price estimate. Please contact the nearest Authorized Sony Service. Best regards, Arpi
