I cannot get my Nintendo DS wifi connection to work with my siemens se 587 gigaset router

When I try to connect I get an error message that says, "Error code: 52000
Unable to obtain an IP address. Move within range of the access point or check DHCP settings."

I have tried to manually set an ip but don't know how to do it, someone suggested that I make it 10 digits higher than the computer's ip, how? I know how to access my router's settings but there seem to be a couple of different ip's. one starting with the usual 192.168 and the other starting with 74, which should I use?

Also with regards to the DHCP settings the only option i can finfd to do eith that is a simple enable or disable. It is enabled and it still doesn't work.

any help will be much appreciated as the nintendo help pages are useless

Ds lite wi fi connect wpa

Try changing your WiFi encription to WEP or no security, this should be available on your cablemodem/router web internface (need a user and password for that) under the Wireless/Security option.

DS Lite is not compatible with any other WiFi encription for online gaming: "Important note about the Nintendo DSi and WPA security: While the Nintendo DSi is compatible with WPA security, Nintendo DS games with online play still require the use of WEP or no security to connect with the Nintendo WFC. Therefore, your connection settings for using these games must be set up on slots 1-3. If you need more details on using your adjusting your router's settings, click here and select your router (if available).

Trying to play a game with wifi connection. It

Try using the Nintendo DS at different locations that have either wi-fi or a friends house that has a wireless router.

If your DS doesn't work at a few different locations then that means your built-in wireless card in the DS is bad.

There is also different things you can try as well according to Nintendo, here is a link to there page as well:

Got error code 51100 on nintenfo ds light dont know how to fix it went to support.nintendo.com but they didnt help

Error Code: 51100 The WEP key for the Access Point you are attempting to connect to has changed since you last connected.
What to do: Verify the Access Point's WEP Key is entered correctly into the Nintendo DS. If your router has slots for more than one WEP key, the first (#1) must be the one selected on your router. If you need assistance, click here and select your router manufacturer and model number. If available, our router pages can provide specific steps and information that may help you with your router's WEP Key.
If you have multiple connection files saved to your Nintendo DS, the error message you received can help determine which connection file may be experiencing a problem:
  • Errors ending in 0 = connection file 1
  • Errors ending in 1 = connection file 2
  • Errors ending in 2 = connection file 3
  • Errors ending in 3 = Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector

Error 51330 on nintendo wii siemens gigaset se587 wlan used.

hi

i have just solved this problem on the SE 587, hope it works for you.

1) in internet explorer type 192.168.1.1, which should bring up your router settings - then select "wireless" and then "basic wireless settings" - under "auto channel" set it to "disable" and the set "wireless channel" to "1" , then "save settings" - my pc briefly went offline and quickly came back.

2) when setting up the connection on the wii you need the code from the bottom of the router - make sure you have "caps lock" ON on the wii when you set up.

3) now everything works perfectly on the wii - you dont even need the pc on! just the router.

good luck, IAN.

Cannot connect to nintendo wii

Hello ab1975, What i would suggest is either using the suggested routers which are suggested for the reason of they are know to connect with little error. Other routers conduct themselfs differently and cause errors. What you might try is updating your router and drivers on your computer. This should update your router to the best know configuration and allow the smoothest opperations.  If this doesn't answer your problem please post again.
Please post what you do and how you did it. I look forward to your posts.

Siemens se 587 router

HI,

You can try manuall setup of da router.

The Default gateway for Siemens Gigaset SE587 is 192.168.1.1. Open Internet Explorer and put the def gateway in the browser.

The default username and password for siemns router is admin.

Click on Setup Tab than Basic Setup on left hand side. Update the details as folloing-

Use – Tiscali data PPPoA Interface

PVC Selection – Tiscali data PPPoA

Authentication – Auto

User Name - Tiscali u/n

Password - Tiscali password

PPPoA Connection Mode- Always On

NAT - ON

And click on save settings. To confirm if the customer is connected, check the status of Online light – which should be green
. Alternatively click on status (On top) to check internet status to confirm connection.

Setting Up Wireless connection – Click on da wireless tab on the top.

Ensure that the Auto channel is disabled and the wireless channel is 11, wireless n/w is Enabled and mode is Mixed.

To secure the wireless connection – Click on Wireless Security option on left hand side

If you want the Security mode as WPA than select the wireless security mode, as WPA and enter WPA Shared key which would be on the base of the router. Again click on save settings.

Try connecting to the wireless network again and I m sure it should work..... lemme know if it does.

Cheers
