WRONG IDEA, YOU CANNOT MAKE AN OUTPUT SOUND ON YOUR MP3 THROUGH USB, THE BEST THING THAT WORKS IS ... REPLACE YOUR HEADPHONE WITH A CORD [AUDIO JACK] AND CONNECT IT TO YOUR PC SOUND CARD THROUGH AUDIO INPUT HOLE. .. THIS REALLY WORKS... PLEASE VOTE FOR MY POSTING

My MacBook's audio still on even when harman Kardon speakers are connected to the computer.(Original version with USC connectors).

As I seem to recall the very first version was powered by the computer and as such may not be compatible with your Mac. I may be thinking of Apple's Clear speakers though? Do your HK Soundsticks have a power adapter or AC cord?

Need help getting my computer to know my USAB connection

If your computer is not recognizing the soundsticks via USB there might be 2 possible root causes: either the PC does not have or cannot obtain the needed drivers for the installation of the soundsticks on the operating system, or possibly there is a problem with the USB port itself. This might be checked in the device manager of your operating system.

How can I get my Harman Kardon Soundsticks 1 to work on my PC?

The USB version of the soundsticks was specifically designed for the mac and they worked just by plugging them in and then telling the system to use them instead of the analogue outputs. Unless someone has produced drivers for Windows XP for these speakers I think that you will probably not be able to use them.

Soundsticks switch from Apple to PC...

No drivers needed for them to work in XP, this I know for sure. Any other operating system, I can't say with any certainty. But I would assume they would work ok in Vista as well.

When plugged into a Windows XP system, they show up in the device manager as "Harman Kardon SoundSticks" without any additional software or drivers. Hope this helps.
