Question about HP iPAQ H1940 Pocket PC

PDA freezes Hi, Everytime I try to launch Word, Excel or Today programmes, teh device freezes and I have to do a reset. To resolve the problem I have tried hard and soft resets and upgraded the ROM to 1.10; all this did not work. I also tried to launch these applications through the explorer, but the PDA freezes again. The devise also freezes when I try to use Notes. Also when I open the Today programme to customize/change picture, there are no items to choose from. This exteremely frustrating as I can no longer use these programmes. All other programmes work fine. Sorry this is a bit long but I want to give you a full picture. Thanks, Saidou

    hello

    i have ipaq hx2490b suddenly it become so slow and freezing so i made a reset and the screen of reset appear and freez that is it again and again nothing shows uo but the screen of the reset it is not turning off unless i take the battary out ...i tried to put it on charger to see if the battery dead ...the same thing the screen freez on the reset nothing more

    anyone can help me with this

Instead of doing the restore again and again I would start from scratch. First do ony the basics (the programs/drivers you need to replicate the problem). If it works then, install all other things. If not, you can always go back to the restore. The problem with a restore is that, if the Registry got screwed up for one reason or another, the problem will come back as soon as you restore. Installing from scratch will prevent that. If it doesn't help you could have a hardware problem. I suggest you contact HP about a replacement or a repair on your unit. How's the warranty? Good luck

Touchflo of HTC Touch 3G won't launch
Hi. TouchFlo is the special today plugin for the HTC devices, and as you realized, you can still use all functions of your PDA without. I think there is an error in the installation of TouchFlo (There can be a bunch of reasons, we have to know everything you did with your PDA in order to guess them), but there is a safe solution for that problem, you can backup all your personal data and software to your PC, then you can hard reset your PDA to its factory default settings. That way both your phone and the TouchFlo will work. Computer keeps freezing everytime i try and open a programme
try doing a system restore on it. To tell You the truth I can't stand Norton because if You miss one of the updates it just doesn't seem to work. I had Norton a long time ago and got rid of it. My phone keeps rebooting everytime

Try to remove the battery, then install it back again then try to make a hard reset of your pda. Please observe what will happen and the error again. If you are still experiencing the same, please bring your pda to a service center to check further the software of your pda.

Try OpenOffice instead http://download.openoffice.org/index.html ... it's free, forever, not just 30 days. It can read and save Office Files (Excell, Word, Powerpoint, etc.), it's Open Source and has all the features you are likely to need. Versions avail for Mac, PC, Linux. 

I switched a month ago, after using MS Office products for a decade .... I don't miss them at all.  I can read all my old files and save them in original MS format, or in the Open Office format.
Try it ... you might like it.    You could always send them a few bucks if you feel it's worth it.
MS code == buggy. Open source code gets fixed because any qualified programmer can look at the source code and contribute a fix.  Considering open source is developed by a rag tag world wide team of programmers,  you will be amazed that the quality is frequently better that MS.  Sun Microsystems has donated a slew of money (programmer time, and hard cash) to developing Open Office.  
Many companies have great, high quality, ad free, software for free, like AVG Antivirus Free version, etc.

Deleting files
This unit is very poor on operating memory. If it is a IIi unit then you can turn the processor to turbo which may help. From my experience these units always freeze.

Hi,
Try This:-
To perform a factory reset and return your HP iPAQ to factory settings:

1. Press and hold the Quick Launch and Rotate Screen buttons.
2. While holding these buttons, use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button on the HP iPAQ until the device restarts.
3. When the HP iPAQ restarts, release all of the buttons, and then remove the stylus from the Reset button. The HP iPAQ restarts and powers on.

Tungsten E- Synch appears to work but nothing actually happens
1. Go to red/blue arrows in lower right corner
2. Right click and select custom
3. Make sure pc know WHAT you wish to transfer and direction
You might not be letting it overwrite anything

E740 won't turn on
Is there a freezing problem if the PDA is on cradle? I am not sure but it can be battery problem. I don’t know how old is your PDA but you should contact service partner and let them check the unit.
