Read the instruction booklet that came with the printer; if you have lost it... downlod a new from the Canon site. SUPPORT>DOWNLOADS Check 4 a new driver too! CONTROLPANEL>SYSTEM>HARDWARE>DEVICE MANAGER> check to see if the Canon is still there somewhere. (expand the + signs)If not, reinstall from the CD exacty as the instructions tell you to.

With the printer on, just lift up the scanner unit (not lid) and the cartridge will come across to the left side of the printer. Then push down on the cartridge and they should pop out. if the cartridge don't move to the left side of the printer, then there could be something stopping it. Good luck

Select Mac OS X or Mac OS depending on your Mac OS version.
Reinstall the software from download.

Remove the right cover one screw in front and 1 in back, clean and apply a little vaseline to the white rails that lift the caps up to the printhead. The error comes when it's too hard to push and lift this assembly.
