I got a standard dual action game pad that I use for FIFA 09. Well, the problem is some of the buttons do not function in the game, even when the manual says that is the button to be clicked. I've gone to control panel, and checked if all buttons are responding to being clicked - and they do, but still seems to malfunction within the game. Any thoughts?

Well, assuming FIFA 09 is compatible with joysticks/controllers, in the Options menu of the game, where you change the controls, you should be able to assign those unused buttons to actions.

The buttons that are not working are technically assigned already. In the options menu, the buttons are already designated to fit certain actions. What I'm saying is that the buttons do not function within the game itself to fit its designated action.
but i use a standard gamepad (basic).
I have the same problem, with the Logitech Precision Gamepad.
