Videocam suite v1.0 download for a Panasonic SDR-H280

I have lost the CD videocam suite v1.0 and now I have a new computer I cannot install my Panasonic SDR-H280

Help I have found all the up-dates but I need the Whole progamme for my camera to be installed

HELP!!!

    I DO HAVE THE CD, AND STILL THE PROGRAM DOESN'T WORK. I'VE TRIED TO INSTALL IT IN THREE DIFFERENT PC'S AND NOTHING.

    I also have the same problem - the CD is lost but at least it is
    installed on one of my PCs (at this moment). I think surely that
    Panasonic should provide a downloadable version of the software!



    There is one way to get files off of a Panasonic HDD DV camera (or at least my SDR-280). This is to simply connect it up as normal, explore the drive which should be displayed in 'My Computer' (in Windows), then select the folder called "SD_VIDEO" and then simply copy and paste each file from there.

    However! The original files stored on the camera are .MOD files and are very unsupported! They play in Windows Media Player without sound and work in some video editing software packages (e.g. Sony Vegas supports these files). The other problem is that each individual shot you take is stored as a file on the camera's HDD. The Panasonic software patches all these files together and convert the files to "proper" MPEG-2 (.mpg) files.

Good news and bad news. The bad news is that Panasonic does not supply a download for the software, but only an update to it.

Refer to: SDR-H60 Downloads

Now the good news. I did find a site that offers the download of VideoCam Suite 1.0. It is:

This is a huge download...Nearly 300MB. Do not even attempt it if you do not have broadband. (DSL or Cable)

I have not used this site so its satisfaction is not guaranteed. There are other links on this site to scan your computer. They may be legit, but I wouldn't do it.

The only other recourse would be to contact Panasonic for a new CD which they will no doubt charge you for. If you should decide to do that the customer service number is 1-800-211-7262.

The software will work only if you attach the camera to the electricity cable comes with the camer...The software will not work using the battery.

I have the same problem. The CD-ROM was not in the camera package when I bought it last year. Did not need it until now so was trying to get disc from Panasonic -- Have just hung up with them (after many frustrating hours of tryting to get resolved) and told them I'll never buy another Panasonic product again.

SONY DCR-SR42 ACCESS RED LIGHT ON I bought a SONY DCR-SR42 from eBay in mint condition, I thought I could shoot on PRO Duo memory stick but I discovered you can only use it for photo and not for video so I looked for the USB cable to connect the internal HDD to my computer. At the moment I connected the camera, the LCD and the same camera turned off and even if I disconnected it, it won't turn on. I had to unplug the battery and the cable, I put back the battery and switched on the camera: a message appears on the screen just after the normal starting operation of "recover data", the message is "cannot recover data". The red light at the back of the camera with the ACCESS sign is always turned on, I tried to navigate the menus in every kind of way to access the hdd without succeeding, also tried to format it from the camera, also didn't work. I bought and replaced the HDD and the same error it's shown, I'm not able to format it or anything else and the same thing it's happening when I connect it to my computer to try access the disk and format it other ways. I discovered it' a kind of error, the E:31:00 as it appears flashing on the LCD, I red about this error on a blog called "videorecovery"(cannot post link) and I practically tried everything. I'm desperate about finding a solution to this problem but after buying the cable and a second not functioning HDD I wanna be sure of being effective so if anyone knows how I could solve this problem I'd really appreciate it.

Sony CCD-V8AF-E Video Camera Good Afternoon, I have a very old CCD-V8AF-E camera and a number of tapes with family movies recorded on them. I want to copy the movies onto a more permanent medium on my computer and to DVD's. The camera has not been used for many years and now when I tried to do the copying, I discovered that the cassette holder will not open when the eject button is pushed. The light above the eject button comes on solid yellow in colour and after a few seconds begins blinking and the cassette holder does not open. There is no tape currently in the camera. I would appreciate it if there is anyone who can give me any ideas on how I can get the cassette holder open. Thanks in advance David Rae.
