Question about Sony Handycam DCR-TRV355 Digital Camcorder
Sony Digital Camcorder (DCR-TRV355E) shows condensation error (code C21:00) almost all the time, even though the camera is totally dry and hasn't been taken outside the house for days. I suppose it's a faulty humidity sensor or a fault in the connections to the humidity sensor. I'd rather disable the whole humidity sensor and live without the condensation warning, and at least have a usable camera! Any ideas how I could fix or mask the problem?
Dew Sensor needs cleaning ... since your camcorder must be more than 10 years old I'm not sure if you would be willing to spend more than $50 to have it looked at! Not having the same model myself but you can try the following: Here's link to a picture of typical moisture sensor. clean it with a q-tip and alcohol. Its a possibility that the sensor could be bad but I'll bet that its a small surface mounted capacitor thats bad. These are common for the caps to go bad, and when they do start to leak, the camcorder should be taken into the shop asap, AS THE LONGER YOU WAIT THE MORE DAMAGE the Capacitors will cause, as they eat up the tiny traces on the board and then the board has to be replaced. Good Luck
