SOURCE: cannot get my krups burr
Hi,
The GVX2 has two micro switches. one on the top hopper (in the groove on right hand side) and the other in the space the coffee holder (collector) fits into.
The coffee collector micro switch is activated by the lid of the collector.
You have to listen for a small "click" as you place the hopper on and again as you insert the coffee collector.

SOURCE: I have a Krups GVX1 burr coffe grinder.
You will have to disassenble the grinder by removing the screws from the bottom of the grinder. You should be able to get to the thermal fuse once you gain access to the insides.
Well worth attempting the repair if you have the replacement thermal fuse needed and can handle a soldering iron to unsolder and soldering needed to remove and replace the failed part.
The thermal fuse isn't like a normal glass tube automotive fuse, but you should be able to get a replacement one from Radio Shack, if you can't get one from the manufacturer.
Hope this helps you get it fixed and best regards!

My grinder stopped suddenly. Open the cover(s) by prying at the cracks with a butter knife or flat head screw driver.
The thermal fuse was good in my case, as were the interlock switches.
The circuit board was burnt around a large power resistor but I could figure out which component was bad.
I simply cut out the timer control completely. One of the black motor wires now connects to the red wire from the bottom interlock switch and the other black wire connects to the blue AC power wire. I may put in a button switch but it works great by using the lid interlock as an on/off switch.
