The Hold Button Has Turned In On Itself

The hold button on the top of my mp3 walkman has slipped slightly inside the machine so I can't turn the hold off. Is there anything I can do to right this problem?

Is there a space in the line between the back and front panels of the player, or is it seemless? If there's a slight crack, take a sharp regular screwdriver(not the philips kind, the other one, flat), hold the player with the eject button facing down, open the crack a little more with the screwdriver on the side of the player, and tap the button area, try to make it full back into place. If it does, just try to close it shut so it's seemless. If it's seemless, you could still try poking at it with a thin metal object(not something that is likely to break and leave pieces inside), but if you're worried about it you could take it to a shop that deals with things like this. Sometimes they wont even charge you if it's a 2 minute fiddling thing. Good luck, I'm curious to know how you work it out so comment back here!

How can I prevent sony walkman NWZ-E463 from turning on?

The switch inside might not be aligned with the outside switch, just like mine was, because I opened it up. Try aligning it if you like fidgeting with electronics, if not try to find someone willing to fix it for you.

Sony walkman NZ-E353 was working fine both alone and attached too a docking station. Next day it won't come on and keeps flashing "HOLD" before turing off.Battery is fully charged. Please...

I'm sorry that the Walkman Player is not turning ON normally and displaying "HOLD" message. The "HOLD" message indicates that the Walkman player is set to HOLD mode by sliding the HOLD button on the right side. Please make sure that the HOLD switch is not activated.

If the issue persists after moving it from HOLD position, please reset the Walkman player by pressing the reset button using a sharp pointed object. The reset button is located on the rear of the unit.

Thanks for understanding. Please let me know if you require any clarification.

Hi,

Please follow the below steps and check if that resolves the issue:

  1. Press down on and hold the "Power" button on your Philips GoGear MP3 player.
  2. Press down on and hold the "Volume Up" button on your Philips GoGear MP3 player. Continue to hold both of these buttons down for three consecutive seconds. The MP3 player will turn itself off.
  3. Press and hold "Power" until your Philips GoGear MP3 player turns itself back on. Your GoGear will no longer be frozen and you can use it as normal.
If you require further assistance then please revert back.

Cant find intructions?

To turn on the player
Press the >|| (center round button) button to turn on the player. The player resumes the operation from the point where you last turned off.

If “HOLD” appears in the display, slide the HOLD switch in the opposite direction of the arrow (--->) to release the HOLD function.

To turn off the player
Press and hold the >|| (center round button) button to turn off the player. “POWER OFF” appears.

Hints
If there is no operation for a certain period of time while in stop mode, the display turns off automatically to save the battery power. If there is no operation for an extended period, the player turns off completely. The batteries are consumed a little in this status.

You cannot operate the player when it is connected to a computer. Disconnect the player before operating the player.

Something wrong my hold switch

The outer hold switch sits on the actual switch that is connected to the mainboard. That may have slipped out of the outer switch or may have broken off. You would have to open up your unit and pull out your mainboard to look at the top. It is a little black switch. Easy enough to slip back in if it slipped out, but if broken off you could possibly work it back to the off position and do without a hold button, or look for one on Ebay and move your memory to that one.

Cannot turn the player on

Your hold button slide has slipped from underneath the switch or the switch itself has come desoldered. If you are out of warranty, try removing the srews that hold the case on and carefully attempt to realign the switch slde with the tip if the switch. If this dosen't work you may have a soldering problem and this job is really tiny. Good luck.
