Got the infamous System Error 2 on my Nikon Coolpix 8800. Tried the "Reset" solution on setup to no avail. Tried turning of VR and no success. I have used the camera since Jan 2005 with amazing photo's and no problems. Used it for wild life and the flexible zoom has been great. Alas system error 2 means turning the camera on and off after each shot! No use for wild life. Any other solutions known? Problem seems to have come after downloading photos to a Windows Vista laptop.

Check for bent pins in the card compartment - put a flashlight into it and check to see if there are any out of line. Next get another SD card that you know is good. Take batteries out of the camera for an hour, put the new card in and turn the camera on. If it doesn't work do the same just don't put a card in. If you were sharing card between cameras I'd recommend REFORMATING the card in the camera it's to be used in, before trying to take pix. I would format the card on your Computer and again in your camera BEFORE you use it and it should be fine. Your card can get corrupted if you interupt the camera when it's trying to write to the card. Corrupted card can be fixed by formating (on PC) but remember formating erases data. There is specialist software availalbe to recover/repair corrupted cards of all types. Do a search on google/yahoo/ask.com Be sure your dials are set at a detent. Not between letters. Take out the battery, wait a few days then put it in. If you can go to the menus and look for the reset and do the reset. Be sure you have a good compatible card in it and if nothing stops the error message look up Nikon service and arrange to send it in to be fixed. They also clean the camera and load the latest software when they fix it. I guess you do not have a warranty?

System Error 2 on Nikon Coolpix 8800 is usually after blow, even the small one, when you or somebody kick the camera and yes, FULL RESET on Set Up mode is just one solution. It's camera's error not the card.

Record File Error on Guardian 2

I was getting the same trouble with the "record file error" always showing up on my monitor as well, and no recordings were being written into the SD card. I tried different SD cards and the same message was appearing. I was about to pack it up and return it to the store until I did one last thing...and it worked for me! Solution: Using a paper clip, insert the end of it into the "reset" hole under the SD slot and the system will turn off, restart, and voila!...it will start recording again. I hope this helps everyone who has this similar problem out there. I guess the unit just need a good reboot and get some of the bugs out of it's system.

My camera doesn't see SD 16GB anymore. Worked fine until a few days ago. SD works fine on PC

Try inspecting the memory card slot, eventually with a magnifying glass. Sometimes just a little bit of dust, a small paper or other debris, can block data transfer. Be sure al contacts on the card, but also in the camera are clean and shining. Never use sharp tools in or around a camera. Don't scratch the contact points.
And to make sure you can put pictures on a memory card, there must be space. If possible try to format the card in the camera. Just to make sure the camera sees the correct file system on the memory card.

Digital camera about 4 years old, take pics, they are on screen when reviewed, but when I put SD card in computer they do not come on the computer. Couple of days later, took more pics, put SD card in...

Possible that the SD card is having errors, So take a scan on the card and confirm. Also check the card on another PC to confirm if there are images on the card. If not there can be errrors in the camera. It will be ideal to have another SD card ( borrowed) to be inserted to the camera to confirm.

My polaroid dvf 130 camcorder won't connect to my computer.the software it came with says it doesnt need a driver since I have windows xp what should I do?

this is what i did, and it worked perfectly. go out and get a sd card * any gig u want* as soon as u put the sd card into the camera, FORMAT IT!!!!. do that before u do anything else. don't format it on ur pc or laptop. format it on the camera. if u do that it will work perfectly. i don't know why it wasn't in the manual to format sd card first. but if u try to take pics first, that will mess up the entire system and u will be assed out a sd card. it took me 3 sd cards to figure this out. the cards worked fine but not in the camera. then i formatted it on the camera first and it works fine. the other sd cards i use for other things, i won't discard them but they won't work in the cam. but remember again GET NEW SD CARD AND FORMAT THE CARD IN THE CAMERA FIRST.

Casio QV-R40 system error 0e01

This may not do anything, and you may have already thought of this, but here goes...

1. Take out the SD card if you have one in the camera.

2. Remove the batteries and leave them out for 24 hours. Put in GOOD batteries and DO NOT PUT THE SD CARD BACK IN THE CAMERA.

3. Power up the camera. See what happens.
If you face the same problem then you have to reinstall the fireware from service center. Thanks.

Kodak Easyshare V803 "unrecognized file format."

Sounds like there is a fault in the SD card.

Try an alt. card reader and computer.

Hopefully you will have the chance to retrieve the pics. If not ;(

Once pics are transferred. The SD card needs to be formatted. Remember this will delete all data on the card.

8GB Sd card error

Hi!

For SD type memory card, the A800 can support up to 2GB only.

Your camera can also support other memory types at higher capacity - please refer to this link for complete details:

I hope that helps!

Good luck and have a nice day!

Camera says card write protected

I just figured it out- on my memory card there's a small "switch" on the left hand side that you can slide up and down. Make sure that this is up the top, not down towards where it says Lock. If it's down, this makes the card Write Protected.

Card error

Hi!

I wish what I'll be saying will resolve the problem. Unfortunately, your camera can only support up to 1GB of SD card. That's the reason why the 4GB card is not working.

Here's a screenshot of the details regarding your Polaroid camera.

I hope that helps.

Good luck and have a nice day!
