Question about JVC Cybercam GR-D72 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
Apparently this same problem exists on many different models. I have a JVC grd72u. I called JVC @ 800-252-5722. I selected the "Corrective Action Program" prompt from the automated attendent. I spoke to a customer service rep. They are aware of the problem and are fixing it for free, but only until 12/31/07. I suggest you call ASAP and get your name in the computer. If the problem is something besides the CCD sensor, they will call you with the estimate to repair.

Your model is listed in the recall notice for JVC camcorders "remove lens cap" malfunction. This means you should get a free repair/replacement from JVC. Visit the following link - http://www.jvcservice.com/service/custnoticecamcorder.asp?ReqType=CCD Good luck

It does not record; lens cap problem. I tried everything possible for over two weeks; also, took it to video shops in India. I was told that the lens is locked. I am in Sydney Australia and please tell me where to go to have it fixed. Thank you. Marzbani
I have the same problem. The camera displays LENS CAP ON. I have to try several times until I can get video. It's frustrating.
I have the same problem...is it still free to fix.
My JVC GR-D72 Mini DV could not show picture in auto and manual mode. The "Lens Cap" displayed when it is turned on even though the lens cap is not there.
