Hi Willianette nice to work with you here in fixya..

Actually that problem is usually have 3 causes its either Ysustain,logic/controller or XY board..But commonly need to replace it all that's why plasma TV is very expensive to repair..

I have some question for you to help me diagnose your TV..

  1. Do you have multimeter and know how to use it?
  2. Did you any electronic background?
  3. Did you measure the VS and VA voltage on power supply inside your TV..If that so what is the actual reading?
Please answer those questions to help me to fix your TV..
Regards,
Rossiel

No,Willianette I think you should try to replaced Y sustain board first because that is the common problem of no picture (Plasma TV)..

This is the part # HP 1032298-HS..

You can buy it to this link:http://www.ebay.com/itm/1032298-HS-YSUS-...

Toshiba Plasma TV HP 42 Inch pop no picture

Most common issue is power supply board fails--Plasma sets do not sell single parts--only a complete board---may need a tech or shop to look and determine what is wrong.

I can suggest things but need to know your skill levels--this is not for everyone....

The picture went out, no sound nothing... There was a pop then the picture went out. its only three years old...

the popping sound is a capacitor inside burnning out. its just a case of looking for the one that has burst or bulged on top and soldering in a new one.
