I just had this same problem with a Sony DCR-TRV330. I'm so used to finding all my other settings in the LCD menu that I didn't even think to look at the mechanical parts of the camera until today. Well, it turned out that my focus switch (which is on the camera body) had gotten set to 'auto' instead of 'manual'. For anyone else having this issue, I'd recommend first checking your auto/manual focus switch if the zoom problem seemed to pop up overnight.

Ive seen this three times and everytime its been something differant. Fist was the rocker switch was jammed. easy fix as dirt was in there. Second was a small serface maounted capacitor in the zoom interface circuit. An third never found the problem as we thought it was a limit switch in the lens itself but the customer never paid for a new lens assy so we didnt order it. Good luck

1998 s10 2.2 rocker arm torque specs

When searching for rocker arm adjustment on 1998 s10 and you come across search result in googles main searches titled " rocker arm adjustment on 1998 chevy s10 2.2- one would usually expect the search result to at least mention the year/vehicle and correct engine size somewhere on the page! But to appear in search as " rocker arm adjustment 1998 s10 2.2" then as soon as you get to page it suddenly only mentions the 4.3, or chevy impala, IS NOT THE SAME AS THE LYING DECEIVING SEARCH RESULT STATED! Results like this should be removed!!

My Canon HF100 camcorder recently started to zoom or creep by itself. It really makes it difficult to record special moments in life cause you never know if it will zoom in by itself ruining the moment. ...

The problem is indeed athe zoom rocker switch and will require major disassembly to repair. This can be done fairly inexpensively but it's not really a user serviceable problem.

Below is a link to a repair facility which should be able to help you.

My canon HF100 kept on zooming in by itself. I would turn it on and leave it alone for 30 to 40 seconds, suddenly it'll just zoom in to the middle. I am able to use the zoom, it only happen when I am not...

This is most likely a defective zoom rocker switch assembly and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. My Elura somehow is zooming in all the time. I can back it out slowly but as soon as I take my finger off - it zooms in again. Please let me know how to fix this. Thanks

the zoom in rocker is stuck, its a physical problem, you need to try cleaning it with surgical alcohol and an ear bud. or take it to a camera repair shop.

The problem has now been solved by the software I have used, if you are using a programme with a capture and log mode this should automatically find the camcorder for you.
