My 36 inch Sony TV keeps the channel display on channel 4 which is the channel for the satellite receiver. the display does not turn off.. Is there something I can do to have this display turn off . thanks
If you use your Sat remote control turn your tv on/off and there is an info button on the remote. press the tv button and then press the info button that should to it.

The Sony KV-36HS510 has an Auto Setup function for the channels.
1 Press POWER to turn on the TV.
2 Press TV FUNCTION on the remote control.
3 To continue running Auto Setup, press CH+. To exit Auto Setup,
press CH-.
Auto Setup automatically creates a list of receivable channels. When
finished, the lowest numbered channel is displayed.
To reset the TV to factory settings
1 Press POWER to turn on the TV.
2 Hold down RESET on the remote control.
3 Press TV POWER on the TV. (The TV will turn itself off, then back
on.)
4 Release RESET.
Could be the IR receiver in the TV. Make sure nothing is in front of the TV that would block the IR from receiving commands from the remote, I've seen customers put VHS tapes on the front of their TV that caused the remote to not to work.
Hi, You have selected "native" in the video menu which means it will switch to exactly the format being broadcast, like a full screen on a movie and then four inch bars on the sides for a commercial. Change your video setup to display a format other than native. It will still switch if your satellite box has these options as well, so check both. Good Luck, hope this Fixsya!
